The Countdown
Well the moment that Australia has been waiting for is almost upon us and that is who will be the winner of Big Brother 2008!
Who'll win the 8th instalment of the series and take a cool $250,000???
Travis and Terry are the front runners at the moment so it's not to late to put a few bucks down on either at your local TAB. My money is actually on the bricky Rory, but odds are he'll be the next one to go!
Bianca was the latest evictee and even though she was great value to the viewing public with her ever popular temper tantrums, straight shooting and no holds bar attitude, it's good that she left or she might've committed the group killing on reality tv!!!!
Another day or so and her head probably would've exploded!
With only two weeks left questions need to be answered how in the hell are they gonna get rid of all the housemates that are left??
Maybe they could turn it into a wwe match and have a last man/woman standing match!
Or perhaps a triple eviction??
A drinking comp, (whoever doesn't throw up gets to stay)??
I don't know but all those answers will have to be solved one way or another!
Stay tuned and see what happens!

Interview with evictee Renee
I interviewed Renee last week after she left the house. Here's what she had to say
Treasure Hunt
So there's treasure to be found, arr to be sure to be sure!
What they should've done is dressed them up in pirate gear, jack sparrow style, and sent them in!
Nobbi gets the role of foreman and gets to order the housemates around which he'll take to gladly since this is another opportunity to boss the residents around and get under their skin!
Rory gets to do a little bit of phyiscal work and get his hands dirty which probably put smile to his dial and Bridgette was questioned herself if she was a good digger??
NO! Bridge you're good at lifting shopping bags and not a shovel!
Hopefully the hunt will take them all over the complex and they'll get to exercise their brains a little as well! This will make Benny pretty happy since he'll be able to switch on the intellectual side of his noggin and show off, if there are a few riddles to decipher!
My wife's guess is that it's under the combi van and i think she may be spot on!
So stay tuned and watch the hunt for the winners booty of $250,000.

Steppin' Up
Well it's about time that they gave Mikey Goldman the chance to headline the show that he started on 8 yrs ago! From starting as the the voice over guy and warming up the crowd, Mike got his chance on the main stage of Big Brother to host and after the closing credits were shown it could time to go Kyle!!
Mikey did what he does best and stepped up to the plate and knocked it for a homerun!
Afterall, from Friday Night Live, up late and mc-ing the man's had alot of practice doing what he does best,...... and that is getting the crowd involved and making it enjoyable from all points of view!
Well done Mikey you did a fine job!
Ps:- Just a reminder when you're on live tele make sure you don't stare too long at the intruders legs so that the rest of Australia can see you or next time wear some really dark sunglasses!!!

Dynamics
The way the house is structured this year can be explained with one word,..."Unique" !! The characters are very diverse in every way and aspect of the game. From different beliefs, attitudes, personalities and life experiences you can tell they've gone for a little bit old with a big dollup of new! As time continues on, with alliances formed then broken and the housemates one by one going back to their lives as evictees, I think/know that you'll soon see who is playing the game and who are being themselves!
Nobbi and Renee are still my pick to be the final two left in the house and I believe I'm on a winner,.. so jump on!
In a situation like this you can't put on a facade or an act for three months,.. you either be yourself or end up going nuts. With previous voting it was all in the housemates power to throw whoever that they thought should leave the house and then they're left with still a good bunch of people but the one's that they can tolerate or get along with.
But with the way it is this year the voting has dropped into the laps of the fans and then the tougher decision is left to the housemates, which is great.
It's gonna be interesting to say the least when we're down to watching the final month.

Please Welcome Carson
The housemates had to welcome a famous visitor last night in the shape of the ever popular Carson from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and his newest show "How to Look Good Naked".
It was very exciting for the housemates to have someone as famous as he walk through the door and didn't the reactions on the their faces tell it all!
Certain housemates were chosen to have the makeover done. They were:-
Nanna Terri, Ben, Renee, Rory, Bridgette and Party Boy Corey!
All of them looked the part and strutted their stuff on the cat walk to the crowd.
There was a lot of excitement and anticipation for the ab worker Renee, I felt, coz she was the one that I thought would have the biggest change and would stun the group with her new look,......................... and she didn't half do that!!!
She lived up to the expectations of me and her ever enthralled group of misfits - as she came through the door she knocked them flat, like a punch in the head from heavyweight, her look was the best looking ensemble and suited her to down to the ground! And everyone knew that! Especially Nateo!

An Extra Housemate
Besides the make over guru Carson being in the house it seems that someone else has smuggled themselves into the Big Brother house without being seen!?!?
None of the housemates saw him enter, the public sure as hell didn't and his presence is growing more and by the day! The little bugger seems to be buzzing around Renee a bit and giving her a nudge over to the Nateo!!!
Love may have hit the Big Brother house in the shape of the mischievious "CUPID" and he looks like he may be only talking to the ocker Renee, but it's still early days and Nateo may get a visit from the invisible, nappy wearing, arrow shooting, love persuader soon.

New Voting
In my opinion Sunday's eviction lacked a little bit of excitement when the exiting housemate was revealed. Don't get me wrong, the way they've got the voting this year is great, and it would've been easy if they had it that way in my year!
Just by the dumbfounded look on Nobbi's face, the stammering Renee and Travis's voice jumping from different levels it's a brilliant way of doing it!
It has alot to do with the audience this time and lets them decide who's trying to go under the radar, who's boring the crap out of them and who they'd love to see more of.
I would however loved to have seen a little more of the never been probed Saxon coz I think he was about to hit his stride. I take my hat off to the man though because he was in the house to change the way he was and it takes a lot to know that you have an anger management problem and are willing to address the issue and even more try to fix!
After all, he said that he would have never spoken to Travis because of his voice and Nobbi because of his race, then admits to having a problem and was trying to be a better person - takes a big man to admit that he was wrong! Good on ya!!!
All in all the the way they've chucked the housemates into the thick of things is great and I look forward to seeing Saxon the big mouth on stage tonight and even more I may get the chance to meet the first evictee himself!

First Sunday Eviction
Before I say anything about the first eviction, lets go straight for the part of the night when the omnipotent Big Bro had a big boo boo!!!
It was the situation when they were setting up the expectation for who was saved and were not!!!
The housemates were on the edge of their seats to see who was going to be the very first one to be turfed out.
The excitement filled the air, the revolver was set into play, anticipaction was set into play, would it be the ex-bible basher, the dreadlocked bricker or the one who believes 'that there's something out there and it ain't no man....!!'
The time had arrived,.......................
The voice that knows all echoes through the house and introduces the first housemate who gets another week in the house and lives to fight another day was David,.....then.......... Rory walked through the door,the gang jumped up for joy and rejoiced their returning comrade with open arms,......................(behind the scenes though I bet they were passing the buck on whose fault it was that they called out the wrong name on live tele),.................................... but the show must go on as he picked up the right script and continued as if nothing happened by introducing David as David! To which he was subjected to a less than warming group of housemates who already knew that he was coming back.

The Crowded House Eviction
Once again Corey and Nanna Terri have been thrown into the thick of things and were some what backed into a corner.
Choose or Lose.
The ultimatum was pick two people to leave the house. The task was handed to Corey to which he declined. After all, the lad's getting a bit of cash for being on the show, he's also getting more exposure for himself and he's not a housemate (he's a guest with no chance at winning the money, if there is any). Well done.
So the decision was then thrown over to Terri ...pick 2 housemates to leave and then you become a housemate. The choose or lose syndrome! She chose the six pack flaunt'n, bronzed Greg Brady lookalike, lifeguard Barney and the tattoo engulfed, frontman Micheal.
Would've been good to see how their presence would have disrupted the household since Micheal was quoted saying "If someone says something about me, I’ll argue about it. I’m not one of those people who are going to hold back just to be friends with everyone". And Barney considering himself as "Flirtatious, pretty honest and annoying". But alas we will not!
Now the housemates are stuck with two nerds in their humble abode:-
Nathan the optimus prime loving (nothing wrong with transformers), bone crunching, virgin and Travis the man who is as calm as cucumber and annoying the boys in the house coz they so want him to admit being gay as the sydney mardi gra, to which he says he is not!

or
2) enough chocolates and soft drinks for all the housemates?
Hmmmm.... which one to chose????

Corey made the right choice, obviously. If he wants to show Australia that he has a good side then that was the best way to keep things rolling! The zero to hero factor!

Stop complaining Nobbi
Maybe it's time that Nobbi stopped complaining about being in the combi van!!!
1) He gets his own sleeping space and doesn't have to share with anyone!
2) He's out of the view of any of the other housemates so when it comes to voting he'll pretty much be safe!
3) He doesn't have to put up with most of the crap that happens in the house.
4) Terri's inside and he's outside!
5) He gets his own private space to sleep in!
Pull ya head in Nobbi, ya go the distance if ya stay in the van!!

Corey Worthington in the house - what a twit!

RORY:- When he tells Dixie that he wouldn't date anyone her size and that she could go to a gym!!!! ..say goodbye to the vote of the larger ladies my friend.
BRIDGETTE:- Answer me this,.........."Why the hell did Bridgette stick her toothbrush up her nose, mid-brush and then continue to keep brushing her teeth! Did anyone else see this incident or was it my imagination?!?!?!?

First Night Impressions
The first night of big brother 2008 has arrived and just from the tone of the public leading up to the 8th year it's either sink or swim! This is my opinion so don't take it as gospel, but i think it might swim!

- TERRI - Strong headed, straight shooter, calls a spade a spade
- SAXON - Nutty as a squirrel, strong opinions, attitude
- BIANCA - Speaks her mind, smart, observer
- NOBBI - Laid back, friendly, pretty cool
- BRIDGET - Ditzy, a bit lost, clueless
- ALICE - Country girl, hard worker, down to earth
- TRAVIS - Positive look on everything, strong, the most annoying voice in the universe!
- RORY - The blokey bloke, strong minded, calls a spade a spade
- RIMA - Honest, confident
- BEN - Intelligent, game player, nerd
- DIXIE - Shy, strong willed, nice
- REBECCA - Bubbly, perfectionist
- DAVID - Positive, troubled background, battler
It's a very diverse mix of housemates, coming from all different walks of life. It's a new fresh look with a wide range of characters from every walk of life. With different qualities, perspectives and unique views on life it's shaping out to be a real good year. But it's only early days and I don't know if a turkey will be introduced!
